Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 3 July 2026
This policy describes what may and may not be sold through payment channels accessed via Tiance. It applies to all merchants alongside our Terms of Service. Because payments are processed by licensed payment service partners, their category rules and card scheme rules also apply.
1. Prohibited
The following may never be sold or facilitated through the service:
- Anything illegal in the merchant's jurisdiction or the customer's jurisdiction.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors.
- Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and controlled substances.
- Weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
- Stolen goods, counterfeit goods, and products that infringe intellectual property rights.
- Fraudulent schemes, including phishing, fake documents, deceptive "guaranteed earnings" offers, and pyramid or Ponzi schemes.
- Malware, hacking services, stolen data, or tools designed primarily to break into systems or evade law enforcement.
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, or processing payments on behalf of undisclosed third parties.
- Transactions involving persons or countries subject to applicable sanctions.
2. Restricted — requires review and approval
The following categories are not automatically rejected, but require additional documentation and explicit approval during business review. Approval depends on channel availability and partner requirements:
- Adult content and dating services.
- Gambling, games of chance, and skill-gaming with prizes.
- Cryptocurrency-related services, including exchanges and on/off-ramps.
- Nutritional supplements and health products.
- Financial services, investment products, and credit repair.
- Travel and event ticketing with long fulfilment windows.
- Marketplaces and platforms that process payments for third-party sellers.
If your business falls in a restricted category, tell us during application. We will review it honestly and confirm whether a suitable channel exists before you build anything.
3. Merchant conduct requirements
- Your website must accurately describe what you sell, who you are, and how customers can reach you.
- Pricing, billing terms, and any recurring charges must be clearly disclosed before payment.
- You must publish and honour a refund policy appropriate to your product.
- You may only process payments for the business and products approved in your review. Material changes to your business model must be reported before going live with them.
4. Enforcement
Where a merchant breaches this policy, we aim to raise it with you directly and give you the opportunity to respond before action is taken. However, we or our payment partners may suspend or terminate access immediately for serious breaches, where required by law or card scheme rules, or to prevent fraud.
5. Questions
